In every business, there are confined spaces where dangerous gases can leak into. Portable multi gas detectors are the best way to detect the presence of toxic gases in the nooks and crannies of confined spaces at work. The newest portable gas leak detector is the Multi Gas Clip (MGC) Pump. Here are some of the features of this innovative product.
Modern Technology
The portable Multi Gas Clip (MGC) pump uses the latest infrared sensors to detect combustible gases and electromechanical sensors to detect H2S, CO, and O2. The pump is compact and incredibly efficient. Having the largest LCD screen lets you easily read the pump’s results, even in the toughest conditions. Plus, the one-button operation makes the MGC pump super easy to use in compact spaces in your workspace.
Long-Lasting Power
Most portable gas detectors need to be charged twice every day. The MGC pump has an internal pump that can stay on for an entire week. This is possible with low-power photometric technology, which lets the MGC pump run for five days without needing to recharge the battery. IR technology allows the MGC to conserve power so the battery can run for a long time. Plus, this new pump only needs to be calibrated every six months.
Ergonomic Design
What sets the MGC pump apart from other portable gas detection equipment is the ergonomic design. At the bottom of this pump, there is a reduced sloping area, providing a comfortable grip for your or your worker’s hands.
Portable Docking Stations
When the MGC pump needs to be tested or charged, you can use a portable docking station to get the job done. The station, housed in a durable Pelican case, can test and charge up to four single and multi clip detectors and pumps in less than 60 seconds. They come with a gas cylinder compartment, regulator gauge, pressure gauge, and a 4 GB (gigabyte) USB port. These features allow you to calibrate, bump test, log data, and program the pump easily.
Additional Features
The portable Multi Gas Clip (MGC) pump gas detector has a hydrophobic membrane filter and particulate filter. These filters prevent water and debris from reaching the internal pump and sensors. An alarm will alert you if either filter gets blocked. A filter window lets you know the condition of the filter. If the filter is clean, the window will be white. If the filter is dirty, the window will be a dark color.
You can apply gas to the GMC pump from a cylinder. The detector’s internal pump continually draws in gas through the gas inlet. You can use a demand flow, or vacuum-actuated, regulator, to apply the same amount of gas that the detector draws with the pump.
The MGC pump uses four logs to record activity while in use. The event and bump logs record the last 25 alarm activities. The calibration log records the last 25 attempts at calibrating the device. Data logs record the pump’s current operational status. This status is updated every second. Data is compressed, reducing the storage of redundant information. The detector can store up to a couple of months of data at a time.
